Why We Think It’s Great:
London has literally hundreds of incredible museums, which is a dream come true for museum-loving families like ours. However, being so spoiled for choice can also be incredibly overwhelming, especially if you’re visiting and have to be selective with how you spend your time.
Due to the sheer size of each museum, you also won’t be able to take it all in with just one visit, so how you spend your time inside matters, too! We love visiting on our own, but we find extraordinary value in London museum guided tours to get the most out of our time, seeing all we want to and bombarding the guide with our burning questions. We also love that these tours are limited to 8 guests, so even if you book a semi-private tour, you’ll get more personalized attention.
The following five museums all make our list of the Best London Museums. We think having a guide is an excellent idea for these museums because the additional context enhances a visit.
