Loch Ness Cruise: Look for Nessie and Admire the Views
This lake—or loch—became famous for its legends about the monster said to inhabit its waters, but that’s not all there is to see (or look for) here. Admire Urquhart Castle from the water, have some snacks or drinks at the cafe, and take it all in.

Activity Overview
Why We Think It’s Great:
This is a well-priced tour of Loch Ness on a double-decker boat. It’s great for everyone, from families to those with disabilities. Sit inside near the cafe, go up top for a view, or walk between the two, as there is plenty of room to move around.
We liked the clean and comfortable boat, the price, and the views of Urquhart Castle from Loch Ness. However, we preferred a live person giving the audio tour instead of a recording. While the recording provided an interesting history of the area, a person would have made it more engaging.
Arrive 10 minutes or more before departure. We were running late and missed the boat! We enjoyed the cafe in the neighboring Clansman Hotel and hopped on to the next cruise. You can arrive early to get in the queue for boarding and get a good seat on the top deck or in the covered cabin. But we found folks moved around, and all the seats provided an equal view.
