Royal Mile Walking Tour: Edinburgh’s Most Famous Street
See this famous road through a historical lens with a professional guide in a small group. This Royal Mile Walking Tour will take you to the most famous sites along this stretch.
Activity Overview
Why We Think It’s Great:
The Royal Mile stretches from Holyroodhouse to Edinburgh Castle and is one of the most well-known tourist attractions in Edinburgh (next to whisky tastings, of course). There’s a lot to see, and it’s a busy area, so walking the route with a guide gives you a chance to hone in on significant and interesting pieces of history you may have otherwise overlooked. Learn about the history, architecture, and theology of sites along and just off the Royal Mile.
I do my best to explain some of the fascinating history on the Royal Mile in the video below. But, I can’t do it justice compared to a local guide. Watch the video if you want an overview of the Royal Mile. I bet it will make you want to book a tour for more details!
