Quick Overview
Hotels on the rugged east side of Maui are few and far between. The biggest and most popular option is the Hana-Maui Resort, a Destination by Hyatt property. If you are planning on an overnight stay for a night or two while exploring this side of the island, this is the perfect spot to book. Not only do you get amenities like the use of resort bikes, tennis courts, and daily yoga classes, this property comes with an excellent points redemption thanks to Hyatt’s generous awards program.
Booking the Hana-Maui Resort with Points
Hyatt uses an award chart to determine the points needed to redeem a free night. The Hana-Maui resort is an award category 7 hotel, which means that it will cost 30,000 points for a one-night standard redemption. The points price can go down to 25,000 during off-peak times and up to 35,000 per night during peak times.
As an example, we chose a night in October where you can book a standard room for 25,000 points plus a $45 nightly resort charge. If you were to book this room in cash, you’d pay $640 per night including all of the taxes and fees.
